Roses, from the
beginning of time ...
In the heart of Bulgaria, in the region between the Balkan and Rhodope
Mountains, lie lush meadowlands nestled among gentle hills and valleys.
THIS is where the story
of the rose begins ...

Bulgarian Attar of Roses has
been recognized as the finest in the world. Distilled from the hand gathered
petals of Rose Damascena, as well as Alba and Centifolia roses, they've been
cultivated intensively throughout the the famous Valley of the Roses at the
heart of the Srendna Gora region in the Balkan Mountains.
Rose Attar is from the white rose Rosa
Damascena, one of the oldest known perfume roses, dating back to the first
century A.D. It was so esteemed that it was a frequent symbol of the sacred
goddess religions, and a motif for Renaissance paintings. From Aristotle to
Alexander the Great, famous personalities in history have written about and
honored the Rose Alba, Rosa Damascena, and Rosa Centifolia as the most
beautifully scented roses in the world.

For two thousand years, Herotodus (circa 450
B.C.) said roses were cultivated around the palaces, linking them as the
possible source of rose water the Kings of Macedonia used lavishly in their
fountains.
Bulgarian Rose has been an essential ingredient
in nearly every perfume in the world of European high fashion since the turn
of the century. Bulgarian Attar of Rose is compatible with hundreds of other
essences of all types. It is considered indispensable in fine art perfumes. |
